Many companies keep a portfolio of their previous work for potential customers to look at. Different photos contain different composite deck material options so you can compare two images side by side to get a better idea of what you are looking for. Aside from different colors, there are also different textures to choose from. Some boards will have the look of wood grain while others appear to be brushed in color. Choose a photo that shows the wood grain and one that shows the brushed side for a comparison of the overall look it creates.
Unfortunately, while photos of previous work can be beneficial, they do not always show how the different composite deck material options will look in your space and background. Some companies perform commercial work making it easy for you to check out their craftsmanship at any time. You can walk up, examine the detail, and get a better idea of how things will look in your space. It is not always as easy to take a look at residential projects up close but you may be able to drive by and see some of the work in the front or backyard. Talk to your local decking and railing company to see if there are any locations that you can easily visit.
